Small Elephant Necklace (Red)
$90.00
In India the elephant is a sacred animal and a symbol of royalty. Maharajas used to ride on elephants during processions and in war. This oval thewa pendant depicts a dressed elephant with a howdah, a type of carriage or bed positioned on its back for sitting. The thewa piece is made by hand of 22k gold fused to red glass and set in a sterling silver pendant with a scalloped outline that recalls Indian architecture. A blue topaz drop hangs from the pendant.
Sterling Silver, Blue Topaz, 22k Yellow Gold on Red Glass from Pratabgarh, India
