Bulla is latin for ‘Bubble’, an accurate description for this necklace with its three-dimensional dome shape. It is made entirely by hand of sterling silver. A yellow and gold thewa piece is fixed in the center of the pendant. Dangling below are three rubies which are set using a traditional Indian goldsmithing technique called kundan. Sheets of 24k gold are compacted onto the surface and around the outside of the ruby, then carved with steel tools for a shiny finish. The pendant hangs from a sterling silver snake chain with lobster clasp closure.
